Cattle– 423
Numbers were similar to last week for a total of 423 head, which comprised mainly of young cattle and cows. Quality of the young cattle was fairly mixed with several pens of well bred cattle, however there was a fair number of plain cattle through the sale. The largest percentage of young cattle went to restockers and feeder buyers. The market saw little change with restocker vealer steers selling to 724c, while the heifer portion toped at 498c/kg. Feeder yearling steers ranged from 450c to 612c for well bred steers, and feeder heifers sold to 498c/kg. The yarding of export cattle consisted mainly of a good penning of cows. Medium weight 3 scores averaged 345c and heavy cows toped at 379c/kg. However the highlight of the sale was a run of 64 head of PTIC Angus cows going back to the paddock, selling for 470.2c/kg for a average weight of 713kg to return $3,352/head.

Yarding– 2810 Lambs–1689 Sheep– 1121
2,810 sheep yarded, of which there was 1,689 lambs offered. There was several lines of well finished heavy and extra heavy lambs, trade weights were in fair numbers, and there was several pens of light lambs through the sale that suited restockers. Quality was good with most lambs well presented. Most lambs met a strong market with trade weights $144 to $205, while heavy lambs sold from $162 to $220, and extra heavy lambs reached a top price of $266/head. The few hoggets sold to $175/head. Restockers were active in the market paying up to $149/head. There was a good quality yarding of mutton, however demand was fairly weak with a large number of sheep being passed in. Ewes sold to a top of $160/head.
