Cattle– 673
Numbers increased to 673 at Inverell, with all the regular export processors present and operating on the quality line up of cows and heavy weight bullocks. All the usual feeder buyers operated along with a very large panel of local restockers keen to secure replacement stock. Light weight yearling steers sold to restockers for 582c to average 542c/kg. Yearling steers weighing 280 to 330kg made to 521c, and averaged 495c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market sold from 400c to 450c, and averaged 434c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers returned to the paddock at 572c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed for the domestic market made to 490c to average 467c/kg. Grown steers sold to processors at 378c, and averaged 344c, and feeder buyers paid up to 439c/kg. Heavy weight grown heifers to the wholesale trade market made to a top of 358c to average 344c/kg. Light weight cows returning to the paddock sold to 310c, with good heavy weight cows to processors making to 311c to average 308c/kg. Heavy weight bulls sold to 308c and averaged 294c/kg.

Numbers reduced slightly to 1,099 at Inverell with 652 lambs and 447 grown sheep yarded. All the regular processors and butchers were present and operating on the penning of well finished lambs and sheep, with restockers keen to purchase any of the score 2 offering. Young score 2 lambs sold to restockers sold for $163 to average $158/head. Light weight lambs to the trade sold to $178 and medium weight trade lambs made to $207 and averaged $201/head. Heavy weight lambs with the proceeds donated to the local cancer council made $300/head on several lots. Hoggets sold to processors at $189/head. Young ewes sold to $189 with young wethers making to $185/head. Heavy weight ewes to processors made $200 and wethers sold to $190/head.
