Numbers decreased by almost half to see all categories reduced with the exception of bulls which increased to 40 head. There was a good selection of well bred, forward conditioned yearling steers suitable to both processors and feeder operators. All the regular operators attended along with the return of a major exporter. Light steers to background and feed sold to significantly dearer trends as did the heifer portion with prices rising 16 to 18c/kg. Medium weight feeder steers sold to an easier trend, lack of numbers a factor. Conversely the heavy drafts, many grain and crop assisted sold to dearer trends of up to 9c/kg. Limited numbers of feeder heifers resulted in a cheaper trend, easing 25c/kg in places. Isolated sales of medium weight trade heifers improved as much as 25c/kg. Grown steers sold to a cheaper trend while the heifer drafts sold to improved values, up 22c/kg. Medium weight cows were dearer selling to rises of 11c/kg. Well presented pens of heavy cows saw a slight easing in the market, back 7c/kg. A large bull offering saw that category sell to much improved values up 17c/kg.
