Cattle– 533

There was a slight increase in the mixed quality offering, with a majority of young cattle coming off crop. Cow numbers reduced marginally. Not all the exporters were present, but all other restocker, and feeder operators were present and competing. A reduction in quality saw yearling steers under 280kg slip in price by 40c/kg to restockers, conversely the drafts over 300kg sold to dearer trends of 22c/kg. Medium weight steers to feed saw only a marginal change in price. Yearling heifers under 280kg also experienced a very slight rise in price, and feeders over 300kg sold to dearer trends of 7c/kg. Medium weight feeder heifers were cheaper by 16c/kg. There were minimum numbers grown cattle offered, with heavy steers to the trade back 26c/kg. The heavy grown heifer drafts sold to a dearer trend of 20c/kg. Light weight cows were dearer, and sold to 14c/kg better. The medium weight cows sold to cheaper trends of 8c/kg. The heavy weight D3 cows saw a price correction of 12c/kg . Restockers pushed depastured cows to 310c/kg. The best of the heavy weight bulls made to 324c/kg.
