Cattle– 769
Numbers were similar, with young cattle well represented, and a slight reduction in the cow offering. All the regular buying panel was represented and operating, with strong feeder and restocker interest in place. Processors were competitive in the limited offering of heavy cows. Light weight steer and heifer weaners were short, in both supply and quality, but sold to strong trends from 416c to 450c/kg. Well bred yearling steers sold to restockers in a strong market, to gain up to 17c/kg. Steers under 330kg to feed saw dearer price trends, to also improve by up 17c/kg. The medium weight yearling steers sold to a dearer trend of 21c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers experienced cheaper trends to the trade of 8c/kg. Good drafts of medium weight restocker heifers experienced slight rises. Grown steers and heifers were to small in numbers to reliable quote. Light weight cows to restockers sold to a dearer trend, to gain up to 13c/kg. Medium weight cows to processors sold to firm market, while D3 cows were slightly cheaper. Heavy D4 cows experienced a sharp rise of up to 29c/kg. The better bulls saw a reduction in price of 13c/kg
