Numbers dipped slightly, to a penning which increased in weight and lifted in quality. This eventuated in a rise in trends for most categories. All the regular buyers attended and competed to a stronger demand. Steer weaners sold to dearer trends, up to 18c/kg. The heifer drafts also sold to dearer trends, their rise up 24c/k , both categories selling to strong restocker demand, with competition from West of the state. Light yearling steers to feed enjoyed a rise of 28c, with the restocker demand pushing those drafts to 14c/kg better. Medium and heavy weight feeder steers were also dearer. Heifers, however saw cheaper trends, the medium drafts back 13c/kg although, isolated sales to the trade yielded a slightly dearer trend. A limited offering of heavy feeder steers sold to cheaper trend, the heifer portion selling to improved trends. Cows to feed on sold to 252c, with medium weight cows to 13c/kg dearer. An improvement in weight and quality in the heavy cow penning saw rises of 18c/kg. Bulls to processor improved 30c, with restockers taking that category to 341c/kg.
