Yarding– 2420

Numbers rose slightly to offer a very well finished pen of heavy lambs. Restocker interest was keen on Dorper types with a pen of ewe lambs reaching $248/head. Wethers made up the bulk of the grown sheep on offer. All the regular buyers attended to a varied market, with a correction through some of the heavy drafts.

Restockers operated on a draft of very light Merino lambs where the wethers made from $94 to $120 and the ewe portion made from $50 to $82/head. Light trade lambs sold marginally dearer, with restockers handling the crossbred portion that sold up to $12/head better. Trade lambs were mostly $5 to $6/head dearer. The middle drafts of heavy lambs saw cheaper trends, however, lambs over 30kg were as much as $21/head dearer.  Light ewes sold to a cheaper trend with a lack of quality a factor. Medium weight ewes sold to a dearer trend, up $9 while heavy crossbred ewes sold to a top of $191/head. Medium weight crossbred wethers sold $16 better with the extra heavy drafts making $190/head.
