Cattle - 2033
Inverell penned 2033 good quality cattle for the first sale of 2026 with 1252 head extra. An extra agent has joined the Association. It was a particularly good offering of heavy cows to result in the heavy prime cows selling to 318c/kg with good demand from a Southern operator. Trends improved for the most part with regular buyers attending and most operated for processor product feeders and backgrounders. Light steers to background much dearer 440c to 518c/kg. Background steers to 330kgs dearer selling to 520c/kg. Medium feeders considerably dearer 400c to 522c/kg. Background drafts 448c to 482c/kg and similar weight processors significantly dearer 396c to 440c/kg. Light background heifers to 16c/kg better 418c to 448c/kg. Medium backgrounders dearer 428c to 450c/kg similar feeder heifers 430c to 472c/kg. Heavy feeders substantially dearer 430c to 472c/kg. Heavy grown heifers to process dearer 376c to 424c/kg and heavy feeders to 468c/kg. Prime heavy cows 398c to 418c/kg two and three score cows 350c to 394c/kg. Heavy bulls were dearer 355c to 406c/kg. Medium to heavy bulls to feed on 350c to 416c/kg.

Yarding – 1860 Lambs – 1153 Sheep - 707
Inverell penned 1153 lambs and 707 grown sheep for the first sale of 2026 241 less than the last sale of 2025. Trends were mixed but tended to a cheaper trend for the most part. The regular buyers attended and operated with sheep to a generally cheaper trend. Merino lambs to the paddock $115 to $153/head. Trade Dorper lambs dearer $186 to $220/head conversely heavy trade dorpers were cheaper $220 to $255/head. Heavy crossbred lambs cheaper selling to $235/head. Crossbred lambs to 30kgs cwt were cheaper $266 to $300/head. Limited lambs over 30kgs cwt sold to dearer trends $320 to $350/head. Hoggets $181 to $255/head. Trade Merino ewes with half wool were dearer making $245/head. Trade Dorpers slipped $5/head $154 to $210/head. Heavy crossbred ewes made $270/head . Heavy wethers $200 to $205/head.
