Cattle - 1064

Although the supply areas were very wet vendors managed to yard 1,064 head, consisting of a good supply of yearlings and increased numbers of cows.  Quality was fairly good with several consignments being crop finished.  There was only a few pens of weaner steers however, they met a solid market toping at 536c/kg.  Yearling steer numbers were also down, with the backgrounders selling to 530c, and the feeder steers ranged from 440c to 480c/kg.  The good supply of yearling heifers sold to a much dearer trend with the feeder heifers selling from 400c to 440c.  Trade heifers met a keener market reaching a top price of 472c/kg.  The yarding of export cattle consisted of a few pens on grown steers, and grown heifers were in good numbers.  Both the steers and heifers sold to a dearer trend with steers to process selling to 460c, while the grown heifers sold to 448c/kg.  Heavy 4 score cows sold from 400c to 434c, while 3 score cows averaged 381c/kg.  Heavy bulls sold to 360c/kg.
