Cattle - 1920

Inverell penned 1920 mixed cattle a reduction of 1233 head due to very hot conditions. The regular sheep sale has been postponed until the 10th February. The regular buyers attended to a varied market which resulted in feeder steers and heifers up to 480kgs dearer and most other categories cheaper. Heavy cows saw a very slight improvement.  Vealer steers and heifers to the paddock sold 502c/kg and 420c/kg respectively. Light yearling steers to background much cheaper 434c to 496c/kg with similar feeders also cheaper 410c to 480c/kg. Medium feeder and background steers sold 530c/kg and 518c/kg. Feeders to 480kgs dearer 450c to 506c/kg and similar processors slightly dearer 380c to 445c/kg.   Medium heifers to feed were cheaper 390c to 428c/kg the background drafts 335c to 398c/kg. Similar processing categories sold to a dearer market and sold to 430c/kg. Heavy processor heifers 390c to 410c/kg and heavy feeders 435c to 458c/kg.   Grown steers to process 400c to 450c/kg  heifer drafts were dearer selling to 424c/kg. Heavy cows slightly dearer 340c to 388c/kg and cows to the paddock sold 200c to 348c/kg. Heavy bulls to process were dearer 292c to 410c/kg.
