Cattle - 1188
Numbers were up slightly for a yarding of 1,188 head, consisting mainly of feeder cattle, with plenty of weight and condition, there was also some lighter yearlings through the sale,and a few more cows offered this week. The market was very strong through out the sale for all classes of cattle, with processors and feeders competing strongly. Restocker weaner steers sold to a top of 526c, while background and restocker yearling steers ranged from 448c to 520c/kg. Feeder steers were 5 c to 10c dearer selling from 446c to 526c/kg. Yearling heifers met a strong market with restockers selling from 388c to 444c/kg. Feeder heifers ranged from 394c to 488c/kg. There was a limited number of grown steers, the steers to process sold from 420c to 448c/kg. Grown heifers to process sold from 420c to 438c, and feeders toped at 445c/kg. The cow market improved by up to 20c with 3 scores averaging 359c and heavy cows sold from 386c to 416c/kg. Heavy bulls reached a top price of 376c/kg.
