Cattle - 1128
There was a lighter yarding of 1,128 head which was down by 949. The main reduction in numbers was with the weaner cattle and light yearlings, however there was a good yarding of cows. The yarding of young cattle consisted of several runs of well bred and well finished yearlings, with some consignments crop finished. The market held firm for restocker weaner steers, ranging from 380c to 450c, while restocker weaner heifers were slightly dearer selling to 372c/kg. Feeder steers were 10c dearer and more in places ranging from 368c to 430c while feeder heifers held firm selling from 330c to 376c/kg. The yarding of export cattle consisted of a few pens of grown steers and several pens of heifers, while cows were well supplied. Grown steers sold to a top of 362c to process and feeder steers toped at 376c/kg. Grown heifers sold to 366c/kg. The cow market varied with 3 score cows struggling to reach last weeks prices to average 267c however, heavy 4 score cows were 8c dearer selling from 290c to 330c/kg.

Yarding – 2388 Lambs – 1601 Sheep - 787
There was a much smaller yarding of 2,388 sheep which included 1,601 lambs. Quality was good with mainly trade weights offered, along with several pens of heavy lambs, however there was not the number of heavy lambs offered as the previous sale. Lambs sold firm to slightly easier in places with trades weights under 24kg selling from $190 to $235 while heavy trade weights sold from $230 to $240/head. Heavy and extra heavy lambs ranged from $230 to $340/head. Dorper lambs toped at $240/head. The small offering of mutton met a firm market with ewes selling to $218 and wethers toped at $260/head. Dorper mutton reached a top price of $250/head.
