Cattle - 810
Inverell penned 810 good quality cattle a reduction of 1283 head. Trends generally positive with regular buyers attending and operating strongly. Light weaner steers much dearer to background 480c to 596c/kg with similar heifers selling to a cheaper trend 380c to 454c/kg. Weaner heifers to 280kgs were 17c/kg better 420c to 470c/kg. Similar processors sold to 456c/kg. Medium steers to feed gained 49c/kg 536c to 548c/kg and heavy feeders to 536c/kg. Heavy yearling steers to process sold to 420c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed lifted 9c/kg 450c to 478c/kg. Similar backgrounders considerably dearer 350c to 472c/kg. Medium feeder heifers 28c/kg better 450c to 530c/kg. Heavy feeders were 31c/kg dearer 484c to 520c/kg. Limited grown steers to process 420c/kg to 434c/kg equivalent heifers 432c to 470c/kg. Cows to the paddock 226c to 360c/kg. Two and three score cows firm 352c to 410c/kg. Prime heavy cows to 35c/kg dearer 410c to 442c/kg. Heavy bulls lifted 4c/kg 340c to 410c/kg. Yearling feeder bulls 376c to 384c/kg.

Yarding – 3201 Lambs – 2117 Sheep - 1084
Inverell penned 1084 grown sheep and 2117 lambs totalling 3201 head for an increase of 1353 sheep and lambs. Quality was good with an increase in trends for heavier lambs with grown sheep mostly cheaper. All the regular buyers attended and operated. Restockers were keen to compete on light Dorper lambs $113 to $150/head. Merino lambs to the trade were dearer $224 to $270/head. Heavy trade crossbreds gained up to $40/head $289 to $299/head and similar Dorper lambs were $10/head better selling to $286/head. Dorper to 30kgs cwt lifted $37/head $295 to $330/head however the crossbred drafts slipped $17/head $300 to $339/head. Ram lambs made to $182/head. Hoggets to $220/head. Light ewes sold to $168/head and medium ewes sold $162 to $220/head. Heavy ewes $188 to $290/head. Light plain merino wethers to restockers $90 to $150/head. Meat rams $90 to $160/head.
