Cattle - 707 (-1193)
The rain event across the regular supply area reduced numbers at Inverell to 707 head. All the regular and southern processors attended along with feeder buyers and local restockers. Yearling steers and heifers to feed and restock sold to dearer trends as did the grown steers and cows. Yearling steers in the 200-280kg range to restockers made 530c to average 504c/kg. Yearling steers over 330kg to background averaged 494c and sold to 520c/kg. Heavy yearling steers to feed made 444c to average 400c/kg. Yearling heifers in the 200-280kg range to background made 418c to average 395c/kg. Yearling heifers over 330kg to restockers sold to 404c and averaged 387c/kg. Heavy yearling heifers to feed made 424c to average 389c/kg. Bullocks to processors averaged 435c and sold to 450c/kg. Grown heifers to processors made 422c to average 407c/kg. Light weight plain conditioned cows to processors made 362c to average 337c/kg. Good heavy score 3 cows to processors made 392c to average 379c with the best heavy cows topping at 408c to average 389c/kg. Heavy bulls to processors made 350c to average 334c/kg.


Sheep
Yarding – 3266 Lambs – 1936 Sheep - 1330
Inverell agents penned 1,936 lambs and 1,330 grown sheep. All the regular processors and butchers attended along with local restockers. The yarding contained excellent runs of heavy processor lambs and mutton which all sold to dearer trends. Young light weight lambs to restockers sold from $117 to $136/head. Older lambs to the wholesale meat trade sold from $170 to $218/head. Lambs in the 22-26kg range sold from $222 to $275/head. Heavy lambs to processors sold from $240 to $350 with the top lambs selling to $387/head. Hoggets to processors sold from $220 to $230/head. Ewes to processors sold from $153 to $280/head. Wethers to processors sold from $152 to $270/head. Rams to processors sold from $80 to $156/head.
