Cattle - 947
The supply of stock at Inverell remained close to last sale with agents penning 947 head. The yarding contained increased numbers of heavy yearling feeder heifers and steers which sold to dearer trends. The yearling steers to background and feed eased slightly with quality the major factor. Restockers were very active in the cow yarding which held prices close to last week. Light weight yearling steers to restockers made 422c to average 385c/kg. Yearling steers over 280kg to background made 430c to average 365c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged 385c and sold to 412c/kg. Heavy yearling steers to feed sold to 424c and averaged from 371c to 395c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers to processors averaged 301c and sold to 310c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed sold to 330c/kg. Heavy yearling heifers to feed made 364c to average 340c/kg. Grown steers to feed sold to 330c/kg. Grown heifers to processors made 274c to average 268c/kg. Light weight cows to processors sold from 216c to 240c with those to restockers at 220c to 256c/kg. Heavy score 2 and 3 cows to processors improved from 1c to 6c selling to 260c and averaging from 247c to 252c/kg. Best of the heavy cows sold to 264c/kg. Heavy bulls to processors made 284c to average 274c/kg.

Agents at Inverell penned 2,554 lambs and 951 grown sheep. The yarding contained excellent lines of well finished lambs and mutton and only a handful of store lambs. All classes sold to very spirited competition from the full panel of buyers. Light weight lambs to restockers sold to $73/head with those over 16kg to processors at $138/head. Lambs in the 18-20kg range to restockers sold to $159/head. Trade weight lambs sold from $132 to $206/head. Heavy trade lambs sold from $180 to $290/head. Very heavy lambs to processors sold from $237 to $312/head. Hoggets to processors sold from $100 to $200/head. Dorper ewes to processors sold from $110 to $172 with the crossbred ewes at $111 to $225/head. Crossbred wethers to processors sold from $120 to $168 with merino wethers at $130 to $170/head. Ram lambs to the butcher trade sold from $120 to $166/head. Rams to processors sold from $90 to 148/head.
