Cattle - 756
Inverell penned 756 head a reduction of 498 due to patchy rain through the drawing area. It was a plainer quality offering with varied trends resulting. Heavy cows slightly dearer. Backgrounders were competitive on plainer yearling types with light weaner steers selling to 610c/kg and medium yearling steers to feed including plainer types were slightly cheaper 420c to 525c/kg. Heavy feeders were dearer 450c to 546c/kg. Light background heifers 378c to 388c/kg and medium feeders dearer 420c to 496c/kg. Heavy feeders also dearer 440c to 464c/kg. Light processor heifers 320c to 460c/kg. Grown steers to process 382c to 458c/kg similar heifers 400c to 420c/kg. Prime heavy cows 373c to 398c/kg. Two and three score cows 355c to 370c/kg. Cows to the paddock 310c to 350c/kg. Heavy bulls lifted selling 376c to 430c/kg. Yearling bulls 300c to 374c/kg.

Inverell penned 1378 lambs and 1104 grown sheep the sheep numbers increasing. Trends tended to the dearer side grown sheep firm to dearer for heavy drafts. New season lambs off the ewe and crop assisted $245 to $295/head. Lighter lambs $200 to 258/head sent to the paddock. Dorper lambs to the paddock $136 to $170/head crossbreds going the same way $160 to $232/head. Merino lambs to process made to $252/head and heavy trade lambs $202 to $272/head. Lambs to 30kgs cwt $235 to $300/head. A single lamb for the Westpac Helicopter sold to $880/head. Ram lambs $170 to $200/head. Hoggets $160 to $260/head. Young Merino wethers to the paddock sold to $120/head similar ewes $78 to $145/head. Medium crossbred ewes to process $145 to $240/head heavy ewes $180 to $284/head. Older Merino wethers to the paddock $144.50/head. Meat rams $50 to $110/head.
