Cattle - 1750
There was a yarding of 1,750 head which was an increase of 562. The yarding consisted of larger numbers of cattle in most categories. Young cattle consisted of a good percentage of well finished and well bred cattle through the sale which were suitable for restockers and feeder buyers. The market continued to be strong with restocker weaner steers selling to 530c/kg. Restocker and background yearling steers ranged from 454c to 526c/kg. Feeder steers were firm with an odd sale slightly dearer, selling from 482c to 536c/kg. Light yearling heifers to restock sold from 400c to 472c, while feeder heifers were slightly easier ranging from 392c to 484c/kg. There was only a few grown steers, with the process steers selling to 450c and feeders toped at 492c/kg. Grown heifers sold to 448c/kg. The cow market improved by 10c with 2 scores selling from 330c to 378c and 3 score cows averaged 373c/kg. Heavy cows ranged from 394c to 426c/kg. Heavy bulls reached a top price of 386c/kg.

Yarding – 4592 Lambs – 3529 Sheep - 1063
There was a heavier yarding of 4,592 sheep of which 3,529 were lambs. Quality of the lambs was good with a large percentage of lambs off crop or supplementary fed. Trade lambs were in fair numbers, however there was large runs of heavy lambs offered. Competition was strong with all the usual buyers present and operating, and keen to acquire lambs. Trade lambs sold from $184 to $261 while heavy lambs 26kg to 30kg cw ranged from $280 to $338/head. Extra heavy lambs sold from $345 to $392/head. Dorper lambs sold to $317/head. Hoggets toped at $330/head. Although there was not the number of mutton this week quality was good and the market held up strong. Wethers sold from $195 to $275 for the 3 scores, while ewes ranged from $185 to $282/head.
