Cattle - 1580

The number of cattle penned at Inverell increased by 225 head to 1,580. Export buyer attendance was good with one additional southern operator active in the market. The regular panel of feed and restockers buyers were present and operating. Prices generally remained close to the previous week with only quality variations.  Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to 588c to average 532c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged 506c with sales to 538c/kg. There was a wide variation in the heavy weight yearling steers to feed with top quality lines making to 516c however combined with the crossbreds average prices settled at 483c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers to restockers made to 466c a good sample averaging 465c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made to 468c to average 448c and some to restockers made to 462c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 462c and made to 470c/kg.   Bullocks made to 446c to average 443c and grown heifers made to 420c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 381c and made to 386c/kg. The best of the cows made to 410c a large sample averaging close to 400c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 414c/kg.
