Cattle - 1316
Agents at Inverell penned 1,316 head down by 264. The overall yarding contained well finished export lines plus quality lines of feeder and restocker yearlings which sold to rates similar to last week with cows struggling to maintain the prices of the previous week. Yearling steers in the 200-280kg range to restockers sold to 536c/kg. Yearling steers over 280kg to background sold to 518c and averaged 509c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made 508c to average 489c/kg. Heavy yearling steers to feed made 508c to average from 479c to 493c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers to background sold to 448c/kg. Yearling heifers in the 280-400kg range to background and feed sold to 460c and averaged 440c/kg. Heavy yearling heifers to feed sold to 476c and averaged from 446c to 458c/kg. Grown steers over 600kg to processors made 430c to average 416c/kg. Grown heifers to processors sold to 442c and averaged 416c/kg. Light weight plain conditioned cows to processors made 358c to average 319c/kg. Heavy score 2 cows to processors made 365c to average 353c/kg. Good heavy cows topped at 398c to average from 376c to 386c/kg. Heavy bulls to processors average 393c and sold to 426c/kg.

Agents at Inverell penned 2,997 lambs and 1,285 grown sheep at their fortnightly sale. Most of the usual buyers attended and operated with prices still remaining strong for the trade and heavy lambs with the mutton lines selling to solid prices. Young sucker lambs in the 20-22kg range to the wholesale meat trade sold from $200 to $236/head. Young lambs over 26kg sold to $265/head. Older lambs in the 18-20kg range to restockers sold from $110 to $118/head. Lambs in the 20-24kg range to processors sold from $160 to $295/head. Lambs in the 24-30kg range to processors sold from $220 to $327 with the extra heavy lambs at $305 to $400/head. Hoggets to processors sold from $150 to $250/head. Ewes to processors sold from $141 to $240/head. Wethers to processors sold from $160 to $300/head. Rams to processors sold from $100 to $210/head.
