Cattle - 1500
The yarding increased by 240 for a total of 1,500 head. There was larger numbers of young cattle and there was also increased numbers of cows. The yarding of young cattle Consisted of several pens of weaner steers and heifers, however yearling cattle made up the largest percentage of the young cattle. Overall quality was plainer compared to last weeks offering, which had some affect on the lower prices for most classes of restocker and feeder cattle. Restocker weaner steers sold from 366c to 455c to be down by 20c, while weaner heifers ranged from 294c to 352c/kg. Light yearling steers to background sold from 352c to 382c/kg. Feeder steers were considerably easier in places depending on quality, selling from 346c to 410c/kg. Feeder heifers were less affected in the market ranging from 300c to 365c/kg. The yarding of export cattle consisted mainly of cows. The few grown steers sold to 331c to process and grown heifers reached a top price of 340c/kg. The cow market improved by 5c to 10c with 3 score cows averaging 264c and heavy 4 score cows sold from 270c to 288c/kg. Restockers were active in the market paying up to 272c/kg.

Yarding – 4129 Lambs – 2432 Sheep – 1697
Total numbers were down slightly for a yarding of 4,129 sheep and lambs. There was a good yarding of lambs with the largest percentage well finished, several lots were supplementary fed. The market was stronger with most lambs selling $10 head dearer. The trade lambs sold from $175 to $250, while heavy weights ranged from $250 to $296 and several pens of extra heavy lambs met keen competition selling from $302 and to reach a top price of $351/head. Dorper lambs sold to $282/head. Hoggets toped at $200/head. There was several consignments of well finished heavy mutton in a good line up of sheep. The market held firm with ewes selling from $112 to $198 and wethers sold from $175 to $240/head.
