Cattle - 936
Inverell penned 936 mixed cattle a considerable reduction of 898 head. It was a plainer quality yarding with a large offering of weaner cattle under 200kgs leading to cheaper trends for that category. Yearling trends were varied with heifers showing a more positive result. All the regular buyers attended and operated. Light weaner steers to cheaper trends 442c to 612c/kg the heifer drafts followed suit 350c to 490c/kg. Yearling steers to background dearer 470c to 602c/kg medium feeders slipped 8c/kg 538c to 596c/kg. Feeders to 480kgs lifted significantly 508c to 584c/kg. Yearling heifers to background considerably dearer 484c to 532c/kg similar feeders gained 3c/kg 480c to 528c/kg. Processor heifers lifted 12c/kg 414c to 512c/kg. Medium feeders were 12c/kg better 362c to 565c/kg. Grown heifers to process dearer 402c to 518c/kg. Prime heavy cows were 6c/kg dearer 392c to 422c/kg. Three score cows over 520kgs 375c to 388c/kg and cows back to the paddock 278c to 374c/kg. Heavy bulls were 18c/kg cheaper 370c to 392c/kg. Stephen Adams MLA

Inverell penned 1635 sheep and lambs as a total with a minimum offering of grown sheep. It was a very good yarding of heavy lambs with a top price of $422/head for an estimated cwt of 34kgs. All buyers attended to compete in a much dearer market for lambs with grown sheep trends varying depending on quality and weight in that category. Trade crossbred lambs $200 to $210.head and Merinos $216 to $240/head. Heavy trade lambs to $15/head dearer $240 to $310/head. Similar Dorpers were cheaper $255 to $270/head. Heavy Dorpers dearer $274 to $320/head. Lambs to 30kgs cwt sold 292 to $370/head and lambs over 30kgs cwt $360 to $422/head. Ram lambs to $220/head. Trade Merino ewes $180 to $188/head.
